Everyone gets the same tour, the same application, the same answer. That's not a slogan — it's the law, and it's the way we prefer it. The paragraphs below name the protections in plain terms.
Equal opportunity
The Oaks at Royal Palm is an equal-opportunity housing provider. We comply with the federal Fair Housing Act, the Florida Fair Housing Act, and all applicable local fair-housing laws. We do not discriminate against any person because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), familial status, or disability. Florida also protects against discrimination based on age and marital status, and we honor those protections as well.
Reasonable accommodations and modifications
If you have a disability and need a reasonable accommodation in our rules, policies, practices, or services — or a reasonable modification to a residence or common area — please let us know. Requests can be made verbally or in writing to our leasing team, and we’ll work with you to make them. We won’t require more information than is necessary to evaluate a request.
Assistance animals
Assistance animals (service animals and emotional support animals) are not pets and are welcome regardless of our general pet policy, pet rent, or pet fees. We may request documentation supporting the need for an assistance animal only where the disability or the need for the animal is not obvious, as permitted by law.
Application standards
We apply the same screening standards — income, credit, references, rental history, criminal background where legally permitted — to every applicant. Our written screening criteria are available on request. We evaluate on the merits of the application, not the applicant’s membership in any protected class.
Filing a complaint
If you believe you have been discriminated against by us, or by anyone else in the housing process, you can file a complaint with:
