Three minutes
The Walk.
I take it most mornings. Out the door, left at the corner, the bridge in two minutes, the sand in three.
There's a heron that lives near the bridge — gray, patient, on its own schedule. The Audubon designation is for the whole neighborhood, but most days it feels like it's just for him.
By the time I'm back on the patio, the tea is ready and the umbrella is up. Saturday fills in by itself.
